Code in Action – Action Stations!

Today we  had another  Action Station called Code in Action!  My  favourite part was coding Minecraft Adventurer because it was fun.

Something I didn’t like was when I got stuck it was annoying.  I got stuck with the one where you had to place crops and there was water.  I learnt how to use the place block

Something I learnt was that coding is hard.

Reading Change

This week we changed our reading program. I like the part where I read new words

I did not like the page with the red boat because the word boat looked strange.

I learned a new word, mountain.

I did not understand some of the words or how to spell some of the words.

Saving The Sand Dunes

On Friday we went on a trip to learn about saving the sand dunes. It was fun. We learnt what lives in the sand dunes. We built a mini sand dune for the animals that live in the sand dunes. The sand dunes are here for a very good reason. They stop Tsunamis, the waves come in the sand dunes go up. The waves go back in the sea, the sand dunes reform from gravity, the animals that live in the sand dunes are a katapo spider, skink lizard, moths, wasps, beetles, and sandflies. The wood you see on the sand dunes are called sand ladders, they help the creatures that live in the sand dunes. My favorite part was building the mini sand dunes.

Pikitia Pukapuka

Kia Ora, we have been making Te Reo Maori pukapuka pikitia ( picture books) for the preschool children.

I chose to do mine on emotions. I used emojis because the children could easily understand what the words meant because the pictures are very clear.

My favourite part was searching for the right emojis because I had to choose the right one or the children would not know what the word meant.
